Overview
A Lying-in-State will take place on Friday, 21st July 2024 to honour the late Mr. Donovan Ebanks, MBE, JP. Mr. Ebanks was the first Deputy Governor of the Cayman Islands, having been appointed to that position in November 2009. Mr. Ebanks held this position until his retirement in January 2012.
The proceedings can be accessed live on the Cayman Islands Government’s YouTube channel. The public are also welcome to visit the House of Parliament to pay their respects to Mr. Ebanks and to sign in the condolence book. Parking may be available in the designation parking spots within the Library parking lot.

The official ceremonial events that will be held in his honour include:
- Lying-in-State, House of Parliament, George Town, Grand Cayman – Friday, 21 June, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- A memorial service, at Clifton Hunter High School Auditorium will be held on Saturday, 22 June at 3:00 pm.
Condolence books will be placed at the Government Administration Building, the House of Parliament, the District Administration building in Cayman Brac and in the North Side Post Office, as well as virtually on www.BoddenFuneralServices.com.
