Second Special Meeting Held to Elect Speaker of Parliament

The Members of Parliament will convene on Thursday, 23rd November 2023 at 10:00 a.m. to officially nominate and elect the forthcoming Speaker of Parliament, in accordance with the clearly outlined procedure specified in the Cayman Islands Constitution Order (2009) No. 65.
This momentous occasion holds great significance as it marks a pivotal day for both the Parliament and the illustrious history of the Cayman Islands, signifying the appointment of the ninth individual to hold the esteemed position of Speaker of the Cayman Islands Parliament, a position first held by National Hero, Hon. Mrs. Sybil McLaughlin.
