Biography:

Mr. Roy Tatum is a former financial services professional with over 33 years of experience in Cayman’s banking sector – Barclays Bank (Cayman Is & Anguilla) and Butterfield

From 2013 to 2021, Mr. Tatum served two terms as Head of the Office of the Premier under Sir Alden McLaughlin. In this role, he served in the Government Caucus, helped coordinate government policy, advised on national matters, and represented the Cayman Islands in international discussions. He supported the Government in constitutional negotiations in the UK, financial services engagement in Europe, in regional coordination through CARICOM, as well as at diplomatic missions between Overseas Territories.

Mr. Tatum has also contributed to national political leadership as Vice Chairman of the People’s Progressive Movement (PPM) for over 20 years. Following the 2021 General Election, he served as Executive Officer and Political Advisor to the Leader of the Opposition, continuing his involvement in national governance.

In addition to his professional and political roles, Mr. Tatum has been active in community service. He is a former member and Chairman of the Jasmine Hospice Care Board and a former member of the Immigration Appeals Tribunal. He was awarded the Cayman Islands Certificate and Badge of Honour for his contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A Red Bay resident for more than 25 years, Mr. Tatum is married to Esther, and they have two adult daughters. He brings a combination of financial expertise, governance experience, and community engagement to his role as Member of Parliament for Red Bay.
