Biography:

The Hon. Katherine Ebanks-Wilks was first elected as a Member of Parliament in 2021. During the 2021-2025 term she served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministries of Financial Services & Commerce, and Education. She also served as Deputy Speaker, Speaker, Minister of Sustainability and Climate Resiliency, and then an Opposition Member of Parliament.

She has over 15 years of experience in the legal profession, first working as a Financial Services Paralegal in the private sector and, more recently, as Research Paralegal at the Cayman Islands Law Reform Commission.

The Hon. Katherine Ebanks-Wilks was elected and duly installed as the youngest Speaker of the House of Parliament on December 7, 2022. By virtue of her Speakership role, she was the Chair of the Parliament Management Council, the President of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Cayman Islands Branch, and Chairperson of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Youth Parliament Organising Committee.

Hon. Ebanks-Wilks is also deeply passionate about her community and is a dedicated Member of Parliament for West Bay Central, committed to ensuring that her constituents have access to necessary resources and services while advocating for their needs across government platforms. 

Re-elected in 2025, Hon. Ebanks-Wilks now serves as the Minister for Health, Environment and Sustainability.
