Hon. Johany S. “Jay” Ebanks is the Minister of Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing, and Infrastructure. During the 2021 to 2025 term, he was assigned the ministerial portfolio previously titled ‘Ministry of Planning, Agriculture, Housing, and Infrastructure’, and he continues to serve in this role for the 2025-2029 term, with the added responsibility for Lands.

Minister Ebanks was first elected as the independent representative for the electoral district of North Side in the 2021 General Elections, and re-elected in 2025. He began his public service in 2014 when he was elected as a Council Officer for the North Side District Council, before running in the 2017 General Elections.

He has over twenty years of experience in the tourism and construction industries where he has owned and managed his own businesses. He is also invested in other operations such as affordable homes and rental properties.

Hon. Ebanks is a community leader who gives back to North Side through his work with charitable organisation Meal on Wheels, and events such as Pirates’ Week and football camps. He believes that a “person’s greatest wealth is to live his or her life serving people”.

In his spare time, he enjoys fishing.
