Boosting Regional Teamwork

Top officials from seven regional countries recently arrived in Cayman as the country hosted the Northern Caribbean Conference on Economic Co-operation (NCCEC).

This one-day event on Friday, 17 December saw attendees from Cayman, the Bahamas, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico discuss immigration, trade, education, climate change and security.

Included on the conference agenda were presentations from the Hon. Premier, McKeeva Bush, Jamaica’s Prime Minister the Hon. Bruce Golding and CARICOM’s Special Representative on Haiti, the Most Hon. Percival J. Patterson.

Although supported by the Cayman Islands Government, the NCCEC was arranged by the Jamaica National Building Society and the National Building Society of Cayman.

Attendees were be addressed by representatives from Canadian agencies, entrepreneurs and selected experts.
