Overview

A Meeting of the House will be held on Thursday, 1st August 2024 in honour of the first official visit to the Parliament by a sitting Speaker of the House of Commons, UK Parliament.

The Rt. Hon. Sir Lindsay Hoyle, MP, will address the Parliament during a special meeting. Hon. Sir Alden McLaughlin, Speaker of the Parliament of the Cayman Islands, will address the Parliament in addition to speeches by the Premier, Hon. Juliana O’Connor-Connolly, and the Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Roy McTaggart.

Proceedings will be aired live by the Cayman Islands Government on its YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/CaymanIslandsGovernment), and on Radio Cayman.

The public may also watch live in person at the House of Parliament after signing in with security. Arrival should be before 12:00 p.m., noting that parking is not available on the House of Parliament grounds. Parking may be available in designated Parliament spots in the parking lot adjacent to the George Town Public Library.

The proceedings will be recorded in the Hansard, which will be published once the Hansard team have finalised the transcripts.
