For the very first time, the Cayman Islands Youth Parliament will host a Summer Debate, giving the platform to echo their voices on a Private Members’ Motion, moved by Deputy Speaker and Opposition Member, Hon. Pearlina McGaw-Lumsden, that sparked national conversation: “Limiting social media for children under the age of sixteen.”
This Summer Youth Parliament debate is spearheaded by the Youth Parliament Organising Committee’s Chairman and Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Kenneth Bryan and aims to bridge the gap between young citizens and the legislative process, providing an opportunity for civic engagement outside of the annual YP Programme.
