Section 70 of the Parliament Standing Orders (2024 Revision) allows for the establishment of a select committee either to more closely consider a Bill or to assist the House in “exercising its function under Part IV of the Constitution”. That part of the Constitution is namely to conduct the work of the legislature.
Select Committee Meetings will be posted once the respective Chair of each relevant Select Committee has advised the Committee Members of the meeting date and time.

In accordance with Parliament Standing Order No. 74 (2024 Revision), select committees will submit a report to the House “before the end of the session in which it was appointed.” The same Standing Order indicates that the select committee will report to the House if it was not able to complete its investigation before the end of the session. A session refers to the parliamentary year.
Once a select committee’s report has been presented to the House and Laid on the Table, it will be posted on this page.
