18th Youth Parliament

Youth Parliament is a programme in which young people aged 15-25 assume the role of Members of Parliament for a day, debating solutions to real issues that they themselves have created. In the process, Youth Parliamentarians learn about Parliament, the legislative process, and the administration of the Cayman Islands, all while building teamwork, confidence, writing and public speaking skills.

The 18th Youth Parliament started its weekly classes on Tuesday, 1st October 2024. The participants will spend the next several months learning about Parliamentary procedures in order to prepare a motion or bill of their choosing. The live debate will take place on Monday, 10th March 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the House of Parliament, and will be televised on CIGTV and the Cayman Islands Government’s YouTube channel.
